Hartzell Propeller was founded in 1917 and is headquartered in Piqua, Ohio. Hartzell Propeller is the global leader in advanced aircraft propeller design and manufacturing technology for general aviation applications – both piston engine and turboprop – as well as custom propulsion solutions for electric, hybrid-electric aircraft and advanced air mobility programs. In 2021, Hartzell Propeller acquired Tanis Aircraft Products to expand Hartzell’s heating products and expanded its offerings in the experimental propeller market with the acquisition of Whirlwind Propeller in 2024. Hartzell expanded its offerings in the MRO market with 2024 acquisitions of American Propeller Service, Texas Aircraft Propeller and Tiffin Aire Inc.

Tiffin Aire

Based at the Seneca County Airport, Tiffin Aire Inc. was founded in 1968 by Dwight and Jeanne Gnepper. It began with only three employees, two single engine aircraft, two hangars, and an office. By 1996, Tiffin Aire offered aircraft charter, flight instruction and rental, aircraft sales, aircraft maintenance, parts and oil sales, and propeller/governor sales and service. De-ice boot sales/installation and the Tiffin Aire Tug were added to the company product line in later years. Tiffin Aire is now owned by Hartzell Propeller, LLC out of Piqua, Ohio.

Job Summary

Tiffin Aire is seeking Aviation Composite Technicians to join our Service Center team. These roles support a variety of essential operational tasks, offering a workday with both routine responsibilities and special project assignments. Ideal candidates enjoy hands-on work, variation in daily tasks, and contributing to a team environment focused on quality and craftsmanship.

Key Deliverables

· Support propeller builders and prepare finished products for shipment.

· Perform detailed deburring, sanding, and cleaning of complex composite components.

· Conduct entry-level equipment maintenance and assist with machine cleaning.

· Disassemble, degrease, media blast, and clean propeller parts.

· Prepare, paint, and de-mask composite and metal propeller components.

· Pick, pack, and crate small parts and complete propeller systems.

· Read, understand, and accurately follow detailed work instructions.

· Hand-lay composite material patterns on foam cores, precision molds, or other composite structures.

· Perform additional tasks as needed to support production and operational success.

Requirements:

Education/Experience

  • HS Diploma or GED required; experience in a manufacturing facility is a plus

Technical Competencies

  • Mechanical Aptitude: Demonstrated hands-on skills—such as vehicle/body work, construction, machining, or general mechanical ability.
  • Manual Dexterity: Ability to perform detailed, precise work with hands.
  • Process Discipline: Experience in reading and executing written instructions and process standards.
  • Computer Skills: Ability to enter and retrieve data using basic computer systems.
