 POSITION OVERVIEW &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Chemical Engineer plays a key role in the successful execution of projects. This individual will provide technical and engineering excellence, as well as successful delivery of work to our customers. The Senior Chemical Engineer is responsible for a high level of customer satisfaction by ensuring expectations are clearly communicated and managed – both externally and internally. The successful candidate will also contribute to a dynamic team environment by being proactive, clear and frequent communication, and modeling a highly collaborative working environment. This person will also actively support the business development process, through the writing of proposals and meeting with prospective and current customers.
Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

<li>Actively manages assigned projects, driving them to completion. This will require a combination of strong delegation and follow-up, combined with personal execution of work as needed. Project teams will typically be staffed by people in different KFI office locations. </li>
<li>Applies principles from science to engineering designs and problems. </li>
<li>Develops PFD’s, material/energy balances, simulations (ChemCAD), and process engineering calculations.</li>
<li>Generates P&amp;ID’s and reviews process piping designs.</li>
<li>Develops process equipment specifications and supports procurement.</li>
<li>Supports and leads project development (FEED/FEL) process.</li>
<li>Field experience related to capital project construction and start-up.</li>
<li>Actively directs and support process instrumentation selection and controls programming.</li>
<li>Provides work direction to other team members, including subcontractors, as assigned.</li>
<li>Supports mentoring of younger staff.</li>
<li>Approves final equipment selections and drawing submittals.</li>
<li>Provides technical and engineering support to other departments/disciplines.</li>
<li>Ensures that new opportunities are properly defined, scoped and priced. Actively contributes to all aspects of the business development process (i.e., proposals and customer meetings). </li>

QUALIFICATIONS
Required

<li>Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.</li>
<li>Minimum of 15 years’ experience to include CAPEX projects and construction </li>
<li>Demonstrated proficiency in chemical processing projects and facilities, including industries such as specialty chemicals, resins, plastics, polymers, oleochemicals, inorganic chemicals or biotechnology.</li>
<li>Possess project management skills and knowledge of related tools and processes.</li>

 Education, Qualifications, Experience:
<ul>
<li>Bachelors’ degree in Chemistry or Life Science field with a Minimum 5 years of laboratory experience</li>
<li>-OR-</li>
<li>Associate degree in Chemistry or other Life Science field with a Minimum of 10 years of experience outside of academic laboratories.</li>
<li>Method Validation</li>
<li>Compendial Testing (USP/EP/JP)</li>
<li>GMP laboratory</li>
</ul>
