Materials Governance & Stock Accuracy Lead

Job Description Role purpose

Drive inventory integrity across the plant so production receives the right material at the right time, enabling lean operations and Just-in-Time (JIT) manufacturing while minimizing variance.

Core outcomes

• Inventory stewardship: Maintain accurate records for raw materials, components, WIP, and finished goods; align on-hand levels to production schedules; prevent excess and obsolescence.
• Count governance: Lead plant-wide physical inventories; design and execute regular cycle counts; reconcile and document all discrepancies.
• Data fidelity: Ensure real-time updates in ERP; uphold data standards and transaction discipline.
• Analytics & reporting: Publish variance analyses, inventory turnover metrics, and corrective action summaries.
• Root-cause excellence: Investigate discrepancies, isolate systemic causes, and implement durable fixes.
• Material flow & safety: Improve warehouse organization and layout for efficiency and safe handling.

Tools & systems

• ERP platforms: SAP, Oracle, or similar (advanced user preferred).
• Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint for analysis and communication.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Business Management or equivalent.
• APICS/CPIM preferred.
• ~5 years in inventory control/stock management preferred.
• Demonstrated attention to detail, problem-solving, and decisive judgment.
• Strong written and verbal communication; effective cross-functional collaboration.
• Capability to perform physical counts, including lifting/moving materials.
• Critical thinking with objective evaluation of data and situations.

• Reduced inventory variance and aged/excess stock.
• On-time material availability aligned to the production schedule.
• Accurate, timely reporting with actionable insights.
• Safer, more efficient warehouse layout and material handling flow.
