Job Description: The Director of Finance wears multiple hats at Dayton REALTORS®. The successful candidate will have a CPA license and be a hands-on and participative manager who will have the responsibilities of the following areas: finance (accounting and tax), business planning, budgeting, human resources, administration, and facilities. The Director of Finance will play a critical role in partnering with the senior leadership team in strategic decision making and operations. Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain General Ledger and monthly journal entries including consistent balancing of all general accounts to subsidiary schedules
- Accurate & timely monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Statements and reports
- Prepare audit and tax work papers and coordinate annual audit with CPA firm
- Daily bank deposits and monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts
- Coordinate daily cash flow of all bank accounts
- Accounts Payable – review invoice entry and issuing checks
- Review credit card charges for appropriateness and correct accounting
- Accounts Receivable – monitor aged AR and perform write offs and refunds
- Payroll including filing of monthly, quarterly and annual reports and all deposits of payroll taxes, including workers compensation true up.
- Attendance at monthly Executive Committee, Board of Directors, MLS, and Foundation meetings
- Preparation of monthly billing statements and associated GL reports
- Billing Journal and Cash Receipts monthly closing and recording
- Maintain accounting software including modernization of financial systems as needed
- Maintain fixed assets records and software
- Lead the modernization of workflows, controls, and reporting structures to improve accuracy, efficiency, transparency, and scalability.
- Evaluate legacy processes to eliminate inefficiencies, reduce manual work, and improve cycle times.
- Annual budget preparation
- Staff liaison to Finance Committee
- Work with investment advisor according to financial guidelines
- Perform recordkeeping for Dayton Realtors Foundation including 990N
- Perform recordkeeping and financial reporting for Dayton Area Realtors Political Action Committee
- Implement best-practice internal controls and documentation to support governance, audit readiness, and risk management
- Perform human resources responsibilities including enhancing professional development, compensation and benefits, performance evaluation, training, recruiting, and maintenance of personnel records
- Coordination of internal accounting MIS systems with outside consultants and vendors
- Supervise building maintenance personnel
- Coordinate building maintenance with outside vendors
- Oversee document retention
- Reply to CEO, all staff, and committee request for financial information
- Respond to all governmental census requests
- Sales and Use tax returns
- Oversee preparation of 1099’s
- Review 990 & 990T
- File Non-Profit Certificate of Continued Existence with Ohio
Job Requirements:
· CPA.
· Excellent Excel skills
· Good with Microsoft Office Suite
· Excellent knowledge of accounting, tax and payroll legal requirements
· Ability to learn association management systems
· Reliable, professional, courteous and patient
· Good communication and writing skills
· Self-starter who can work independently
