QUALIFICATIONS

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 10+ years’ experience in Agriculture Industry

Work Experience

  • High energy-motivated individual with excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Customer Care—Must be able to effectively interact with customers, respond promptly to needs, and meet all commitment deadlines. Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.

  • Judgment—Displays a willingness to make sound decisions and provide reasoning for them.

  • Obtain Series 3 and Series 30 Licensing for FCC Futures Business (preferred but not required upon hire).
  • Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record (must be insurable under company vehicle insurance policy).

  • Abide by all safety regulations to ensure safety of oneself, coworkers and customers
  • Collaborate with branch managers to identify key customer accounts and prospective customers.
  • Conduct on-farm visits to develop customized marketing plans utilizing all Heritage contracting options.
  • Communicate with regional branch management and grain buyers to assess customer needs.
  • Leverage technology, including CRM systems, market analytics, and hedging tools, to drive informed decisions and enhance customer solutions, reinforcing Heritage Cooperative’s commitment to innovation.
  • Negotiate grain contracts with customers.
  • Plan and Coordinate off-farm trucking as needed.
  • Organize and lead marketing meetings to provide customers with insights on market conditions and intelligence.
  • Provide coaching and training to grain origination personnel and branch managers within the region.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Report all grain purchases to Director of Grain Purchasing in a timely manner.
  • Assist the Regional Grain Manager in developing annual budgets for income and expenses.
  • Monitor competitor grain programs and pricing, sharing insights with the Director of Grain Purchasing.
  • Support logistics for rail, truck, and container shipments as directed.
  • Collaborate with Grain Division senior staff to develop marketing solutions and enhance the image of Heritage Cooperative.
  • Promote a culture of safety among employees and customers.
  • Develop an understanding of corporate hedging and grain position management.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Frequently required to sit for extended periods of time
  • Occasionally required to stand and/or walk
  • Occasionally required to lift heavy objects no more than 50 pounds

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when needed
  • Willingness to work various weather elements including cold, heat, wind, rain, etc.
  • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, airborne particles, caustic chemicals, and moderate to loud noise levels.
