STATUS: FULL-TIME (EXEMPT)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager will assist in effectively managing all aspects of Food & Beverage for Cedar Point Sports Center and managed properties. This position is responsible for delivering an exceptional food, beverage, and service experience for all our guests.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Directly align with the Cedar Point Sports Center Mission Statement and Core Values
  • Manage the daily production, preparation & presentation of all food for the facility's concessions and special events to ensure quality consistent product is produced that meets CPSC standards
  • Assist in hiring, training, mentoring, and supervising all Food & Beverage Team Members
  • Open, supervise, operate, and close concession locations throughout CPSC and managed properties
  • Monitor daily and weekly food & labor costs and financial reports to assist in cost management
  • Assist F&B Manager in weekly and monthly inventory reporting
  • Effectively manage all cooler, freezer, and dry storage areas
  • Ensure highest levels of food safety & sanitation are being maintained, operationally manage safety practices to ensure compliance and inspections scores of 98 or better
  • Assist in ordering of perishable & non-perishable food supplies as well as kitchen supplies
  • Assist F&B Manager with research into new food & beverage items, to create and implement new menu ideas that reflect current trends
  • Manage supply invoices and effectively communicate with vendors, sales representatives, and suppliers
  • Continuously inspect equipment, food deliveries, kitchen equipment, and order repairs as necessary
  • Effectively manage customer complaints and suggestions
  • Coordinate with other managers and vendors regarding catering for special events and parties
  • Complete special projects and daily assignments as directed by Food & Beverage Manager

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:

  • Proven success of effective management strategy in a high-volume concessions/food & beverage environment
  • Experience in supervising staff in order to effectively execute a successful event
  • Experience and success in customer service and leadership
  • Action-oriented personality with a 'get it done' attitude and proficiency for efficiency

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • 2-4 years of culinary experience
  • 2-4 years of food & beverage management experience
  • Food Safety Manager Certification is preferred
  • ServSafe Certification is required
  • RAMP Certification is preferred
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must have strong leadership skills
  • Must be detail-oriented and have outstanding organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain focus in a high-volume, fast paced environment
  • Must be able to work under pressure and be decisive
  • Ability to motivate employees
  • Ability to prioritize
  • Must be able to work well in a group setting
  • Must have strong mathematical skills
  • Must be able to work irregular shifts to include nights, weekends, holidays as needed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist high
  • May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, bend, carry, lift, pull, and push
  • Will be required to operate a computer
  • Facility has intermittent noise
