POSITION: Seasonal Golf Course Player Services AttendantFIRST LINE REPORT: Head Golf Professional SECOND LINE REPORT: Director of Golf & RecreationEMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part-Time SeasonalEXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT: Non-ExemptSUMMARY: The Seasonal Golf Course Player Services Attendant is primarily responsible for cart cleaning, record keeping, front desk, and cashier duties at the Mill Creek MetroParks Golf Course. The Seasonal Golf Course Player Services Attendant position reports directly to the Head Golf Professional. This position is suitable for transitional duty.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Player Services

  • Clean carts including sweeping, washing, and wiping down before customer use
  • Remove trash and other items left in cart/around facility
  • Ensure the cart is stocked with score cards and pencils
  • Record cart numbers for Attendants and Managers
  • Report any damage
  • Park and fill gas of golf carts during the day when required
  • Maintain cleanliness and appearance in all assigned areas by performing daily trash removal and restroom cleaning
  • Provide excellent customer service

Golf Shop

  • Responsible for accurately securing money, merchandise and coupons
  • Direct golfers to proper tees
  • Secure Fieldhouse at closing
  • Record daily reports as directed
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Clean the Fieldhouse and remove daily trash
  • Other duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS

  • Familiarity with golf and other recreational activities
  • Basic reading and math skills, including the ability to operate cash register, count money and make change accurately
  • Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and effectively to a wide variety of audiences in both writing and speaking
  • Ability to work with the public and other staff members in a friendly, professional manner and maintain a courteous demeanor when handling difficult personalities or situations
  • Ability to operate equipment once properly trained
  • Ability to complete all tasks assigned in an efficient, timely and professional manner
  • Able to read, understand and follow MCMP rules, safety rules and SDS sheets
  • Must be able to work a varied schedule as needed including evenings, weekends and holidays throughout the season

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be physically able to perform all tasks inherent to the position
  • Able to walk, traverse or otherwise access all areas of the MetroParks Golf Course, under all types of conditions and weather to perform duties
  • Ability to perform physical labor in all indoor and outdoor environments
  • Able to stand for lengthy periods of time at register
  • Able to perform moderate lifting (25lbs)
  • Ability to reach above head with both arms
  • Excellent eye sight and hearing
  • Hand and wrist dexterity
