Job Description

Our client has been a pillar of the Ohio Valley community for over 80 years, providing customers with the most affordable financial services and products around; they are now seeking a Chief Financial Officer, who will be based in Weirton, WV.



Reporting to the President and CEO, this role will oversee the overall financial plans and policies, accounting practices, budgeting, taxes, asset and liability management and relationships in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations and laws for a Credit Union.



Responsibilities:

  • Work hand in hand with the President and CEO to support the organization at all levels, and report monthly to the BOD
  • Lead a small team that consists of a Controller and small accounting department
  • Manage the processes for financial forecasting, budgets and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting
  • Advise on long-term business and financial planning.
  • Chairperson for ALCO
  • Support and collaborate with the external CPA firm



Basic Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field in required
  • A CPA is required
  • Minimum of 15+ years' experience in accounting, banking or auditing in financial institutions is required



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding financial regulations (NCUA) and industry trends.
  • Strong strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
  • An appreciation for the community that is being served
