We have established lasting relationships with many residential, commercial, and industrial utility customers. We are a unique electrical contractor due to the fact that we perform so many different types of electrical work. We perform residential, commercial, and industrial electrical work, including sports lighting, airport lighting, traffic signal, underground systems, pole-line, and utility work. With over 120 employees and 300 pieces of equipment, there is no job too small or too large for Jess Howard Electric Company. 
 
POSITION DESCRIPTION DETAILS
In this role, the Fleet Mechanic will be performing preventative maintenance and repairs on company fleet of trucks and vehicles.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
<ul>
<li>Determines vehicle or equipment condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests.</li>
<li>Performs preventive maintenance schedules, required inspections and winterization procedures.</li>
<li>Responds to vehicle repair needs, in the field, as required by conducting and / or coordinating repair activities.</li>
<li>Maintains vehicle records by documenting all services and repairs and filing them on site.</li>
<li>Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements.</li>
<li>Updates and improves technical knowledge and ability by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical and regulatory publications.</li>
<li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li>
</ul>
 
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE
<ul>
<li>2-3 years of experience in vehicle and /or equipment maintenance and repair.</li>
<li>Technical/vocational school degree preferred.</li>
<li>Excellent problem solving and communication skills.</li>
</ul>

SALARY RANGE
$25-28 / hr, based on experience

<li>Listen to customers and clearly translate repair needs to techs</li>
<li>Upsell additional services using low pressure, high integrity methods</li>
<li>Provide accurate repair/maintenance estimates</li>
<li>Adhere to policies on vehicle care and operation</li>
<li>Follow up on each repair and keep customers informed of progress</li>
<li>Sell and manage extended warranties</li>
<li>Inspect repair quality and ensure all work is complete</li>
<li>Notify customers when vehicles are ready for pick up</li>
<li>Review and explain repairs and associated costs with customers</li>
<li>Handle minor customer concerns and complaints</li>
<li>Keep Service Manager informed of all problems and potential problems</li>
<li>Maintain Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) scores in accordance with dealership standards</li>
