Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Provides preventive maintenance and DOT Inspection using the correct procedures and guidelines. • Diagnoses and repairs tractors and trucks using well-established policies and procedures, as well as hand and power tools; this includes, but is not limited to, various types of braking systems (hydraulic, air, disc), electrical systems, clutches, air conditioning and heating systems and instruments and gauges, steering mechanisms, wheels, tires, batteries. • Identifies parts and/or systems for repair; repairs or replaces, as appropriate. • Removes broken parts and replaces with new or reconditioned parts. • Road tests vehicles to diagnosis issues and ensure a safe operating vehicle. • Uses hydraulic jacks to raise equipment. • Other duties as required.
Requirements • High school education or GED • In-depth knowledge of all hand, air and power tools required for this industry • Basic understanding and knowledge of welding and Oxy/Acetylene cutting procedures • Overall complete knowledge with comprehensive truck/trailer repair. • Extensive diagnostic and repair knowledge including all areas of discipline manufactured with various OEs. • Clean MVR • Effective written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work well in a team environment

Shop Foreman Qualifications: 
<ul>
<li>
Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems (including electrical schematic) must be able to repair and troubleshoot. Will be working on heavy machinery either independently or with a team
</li>

<ul>
<li>
Repair and troubleshoot class 8 and class 7 trucks along with the Vacuum Module System
</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>
Oversee preventative maintenance on vacuum trucks, tractors and trailers • Complete and/or supervise annual inspections on trucks and trailers
</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>
Plan and schedule efficient workflow throughout the shop • Proficient with computer systems diagnostic equipment
</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>
Program engine computers (Cummins, Detroit, Paccar etc.)
</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>
Perform new truck inspection and run ups in addition will also handle the sale truck inspection run ups
</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>
Must be able to weld, cut and fabricate all types of trucks and machinery
</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>
Able to operate all types of testing devices, as well as all shop machinery
</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>
Assist in teaching employee’s when required, will also train customers on all equipment
</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>
Ensure all technician labor/time sheets are completed and drive productivity for each service technician
</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>
Hold meetings with technicians to go over projects and department goals • Oversee equipment check-in and check-out for rental equipment and trucks
</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>
Assist in maintaining all safety practices in the shop
</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>
Perform other related duties as assigned
</li>
</ul>
Diesel / Fleet Mechanic Requirements: 
<ul>
<li>
Require High School Graduate or equivalent
</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>
Manual dexterity skills
</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>
CDL helpful but not required
</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>
Knowledge of shop mathematics, precision tools and special skills as required
</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>
Supervisory / Teaching ability
</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>
Ability to lift 50 pounds or more infrequently
</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>
Ten years’ experience on Class 7/8 trucks or 3 years’ experience repairing vacuum modules or completion of the Vactor CBT Training course, completion of Cummins training, completion of hydraulic training course, completion of Detroit diesel course and two year’s vacuum module experience or ASE master certification

<ul>
<li>
Complete set of hand tools to complete all work required
</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>
Will stand, stoop, crouch, bend and climb short ladders repeatedly throughout the day
</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>
Must have your own hand tools. - $150 yearly Tool Bonus granted annually.
