Internship Overview:
The conservation department of the Cleveland Museum of Art welcomes applications for a summer graduate internship in Objects Conservation for an 8 - 10 week period (June -August 2026). The intern will join a collaborative and convivial team in caring for, studying, and treating objects from the Museum’s encyclopedic and renowned collection. The CMA maintains a full schedule of loans, rotations, and exhibitions, with associated assessment, documentation and treatment needs. The conservation department is also committed to ongoing research and investigation of objects in the collection. The intern will have the opportunity to work closely and collaboratively with conservators in other specialties, collections care specialists, curators, mount makers, registrars, and exhibition designers, to gain well-rounded professional experience in the diverse responsibilities necessary for a conservator working within a museum setting. 
Due to the diverse, encyclopedic collection at the CMA, projects can be tailored to the student’s interests and experience. Summer plans also include caring for the museum’s group of outdoor sculptures, field trips to visit colleagues at local historic sites and conservation practices in the Cleveland area, and preventive conservation tasks. The Conservation team values outreach and accessibility, and the intern will have opportunities to present and share their conservation activities on social media and blog posts. A few hours a week of gallery maintenance will also be part of the intern’s responsibilities.

The Cleveland Museum of Art is renowned for the quality and breadth of its collection, which includes more than 66,500 objects and spans 6,000 years of achievement in the arts. A major renovation and expansion project completed in 2014 has transformed the museum into a significant international forum for exhibitions, scholarship, performing arts and art education. One of the top comprehensive art museums in the nation and free of charge to all, the Cleveland Museum of Art is located in the University Circle neighborhood. The Museum's conservation department currently employs 14 full-time staff members, including conservators in paper, Asian paintings, textiles, paintings, and objects, as well as technicians and a chief conservator. The department regularly hosts pre-program conservation interns, graduate interns, and post-graduate fellows. Partnering with store leadership, the Customer Service Manager promotes a strong service culture, resolves customer concerns professionally, and supports daily operations to ensure brand standards, customer loyalty, and a welcoming store environment.
 
Key Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Lead, train, and develop Front-End associates to achieve productivity goals, meet corporate initiatives, and maintain high standards of customer service.</li>
<li>Prioritize and delegate daily tasks in alignment with evolving business needs.</li>
<li>Maintain clear and effective communication with front-end teams, merchandising staff, and corporate partners.</li>
<li>Work collaboratively with associates, assisting with daily operations as necessary.</li>
<li>Manage weekly scheduling of Front-End associates to ensure optimal coverage and efficiency.</li>
<li>Create, distribute, and analyze performance scorecards to drive continuous improvement within the Front-End department.</li>
<li>Provide effective leadership, fostering a positive and productive team environment.</li>
<li>Support the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding process for new team members.</li>
<li>Stay current on in-store product knowledge to better assist customers and team members.</li>
<li>Attend mandatory corporate and vendor meetings and training sessions.</li>
<li>Adhere to and enforce all company food safety and personal safety standards.</li>
<li>Perform additional duties as assigned to support business operations.</li>
</ul>
 
Qualifications 
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent required.</li>
<li>Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Front-End environment preferred.</li>
<li>1–3 years of leadership experience strongly preferred.</li>
<li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint).</li>
<li>Strong understanding and adherence to company policies and standards.</li>
<li>Proven ability to lead, make informed decisions, and manage change in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.</li>
<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li>
<li>Exceptional organizational, time management, and planning abilities.</li>
<li>Skilled in coaching, training, and providing constructive feedback to team members.</li>
<li>Willingness and ability to perform all Front-End associate duties when required.</li>
<li>Ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 lbs.</li>
<li>Comfortable working in various weather conditions.</li>
<li>Flexibility to work extended hours as needed to meet business goals.</li>
<li>Availability to work a non-traditional schedule, including weekends and evenings.</li>

Field Force Merchandising is currently seeking part time retail service merchandisers to maintain GREETING CARD&nbsp;displays once per month.
Pay rate $17 per hour HIRING ASAP
This is an Independent Contractor position
Although this is a part-time position and will offer work on additional programs we have in this area.
Qualifications:
