Position Overview
A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant to support clinical and administrative operations in a busy ambulatory setting. The role focuses on direct patient care, workflow coordination, EMR documentation, and supporting providers to ensure efficient and high-quality patient visits.
Responsibilities

Assist physicians and clinical staff with patient examinations and treatments

Maintain efficient patient flow during clinic hours
-
Obtain and document vital signs, review of systems, and patient medical history
-
Update and reconcile medication lists at each visit
-
Accurately document patient data in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
-
Prepare patient charts by scanning, abstracting, and reviewing medical records
-
Coordinate with outside facilities to obtain diagnostic reports and records
-
Refill and pre-authorize medications; communicate with pharmacies and insurance providers
-
Prepare, stock, and maintain clean and organized examination rooms
-
Order and manage medical supplies; track and dispose of expired medications
-
Perform clinical tasks including phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, vaccinations, and cast removal (as assigned)

Respond to patient calls, MyChart messages, and EMR in-baskets
-
Schedule appointments; manage work queues and daily workflow logs
-
Assist with front-desk duties including check-in/check-out and pre-certifications
-
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all regulatory and safety standards
Required Skills & Experience
-
Strong proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel)
-
Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and customer service skills
-
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
-
Willingness to travel to nearby clinic locations as needed
-
Experience with injections, phlebotomy, and EKG procedures
Preferred Skills & Experience
-
2–5 years of Medical Assistant or related clinical experience
-
Experience in multiple care settings (primary care, specialty clinics, urgent care, EMT, etc.)
-
Additional clinical skills such as stitch removal, splinting, and advanced patient support
Education Requirements
-
High School Diploma or GED
-
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
Required Certifications & Licensure

BLS Certification
-
Certified/Registered Medical Assistant
-
EKG Certification
-
Phlebotomy Certification
