Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A part-time, 1:1 Registered Nurse position is available to support a 5th-grade student with significant medical needs in an elementary school setting. This opportunity requires specialized pediatric nursing skills and offers a schedule of one day per week on Tuesdays, including bus transportation to and from school.
Location: Pickerington, OH
Duration: Contract School Year (CSY), starting December through May 22, 2026 (start date flexible based on need)
Schedule: Part-time, 1 day per week (Tuesdays) with travel by school bus
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to one 5th-grade student requiring trach and suctioning support
- Administer tube feeding, water bolus, and medications via G-tube
- Perform trach care and oral/trach suctioning
- Assist with use of AFO splints (hand and leg), wheelchair mobility, and continence care
- Operate and monitor medical equipment such as Hoyer lift and pulse oximeter
- Ensure student safety and health during transportation to and from school
Qualifications:
- Active Ohio RN licensure required
- Strong pediatric nursing experience, especially with critical care skills
- Competency in trach care, suctioning, and G-tube care essential
- Ability to work independently and manage specialized medical needs in a school environment
