Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Fiber Laser Operator role in Marion. Our client is a well-established manufacturer known for precision, innovation, and quality craftsmanship. With a strong focus on advanced technology and continuous improvement, they are seeking a skilled machine operator to support their fabrication team.
Key Responsibilities:

Set up, operate, and monitor fiber laser cutting machines to produce metal parts to exact specifications.

Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to ensure correct material selection, part layout, and cutting parameters.

Adjust machine settings, such as speed, power, and focus, for optimal cutting quality and efficiency.

Inspect cut parts for accuracy using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and ensure parts meet quality standards.

Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of laser equipment to maximize uptime and machine longevity.

Identify and report equipment malfunctions, quality issues, or material inconsistencies to supervisors.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with company safety policies and procedures.

Track and document work completed, including part counts, scrap, and machine performance data.

Collaborate with team members, engineers, and supervisors to optimize cutting programs and improve production flow.
Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or equivalent.

1+ year of experience operating CNC fiber laser cutting equipment (e.g., Amada, Trumpf, Bystronic, Mazak, or similar).

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and production documents.

Familiarity with metal types, material thicknesses, and machine programming.

Basic computer and math skills, including understanding tolerances and dimensions.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods in a production environment.

Willingness to work assigned shifts, including overtime as needed.
