Job DescriptionParalegal / Receptionist – Canfield, OH
A respected regional law firm is seeking a Paralegal/Receptionist to join its Canfield, Ohio office. This full-time, on-site position offers the opportunity to work independently on legal matters and special projects while supporting attorneys across multiple office locations.
The ideal candidate will be an organized, detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills and the ability to balance both legal and administrative responsibilities. While litigation experience is preferred, a willingness to learn additional practice areas—such as real estate and/or oil and gas—is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences
- Manage paper and electronic discovery, including document organization and production
- Draft pleadings, motions, affidavits, subpoenas, and related legal documents
- Maintain case-management databases and attorney calendars with deadlines and hearing dates
- Conduct factual investigations and prepare exhibits, charts, and other case materials
- Provide professional client support via phone, email, and in person
- Perform receptionist duties, including greeting visitors and answering phones
- Accurately track and bill time for all completed work
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with Paralegal Certificate, associate degree in paralegal studies, or equivalent experience preferred
- Prior experience in a law firm or corporate legal department preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience with e-discovery software and document management systems
- Strong writing, proofreading, and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively
- Current Notary Public commission required
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary commensurate with experience ($55,000–$65,000)
