Job DescriptionParalegal / Receptionist – Canfield, OH
A respected regional law firm is seeking a Paralegal/Receptionist to join its Canfield, Ohio office. This full-time, on-site position offers the opportunity to work independently on legal matters and special projects while supporting attorneys across multiple office locations.
The ideal candidate will be an organized, detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills and the ability to balance both legal and administrative responsibilities. While litigation experience is preferred, a willingness to learn additional practice areas—such as real estate and/or oil and gas—is a plus.
Key Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences
  • Manage paper and electronic discovery, including document organization and production
  • Draft pleadings, motions, affidavits, subpoenas, and related legal documents
  • Maintain case-management databases and attorney calendars with deadlines and hearing dates
  • Conduct factual investigations and prepare exhibits, charts, and other case materials
  • Provide professional client support via phone, email, and in person
  • Perform receptionist duties, including greeting visitors and answering phones
  • Accurately track and bill time for all completed work

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with Paralegal Certificate, associate degree in paralegal studies, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Prior experience in a law firm or corporate legal department preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with e-discovery software and document management systems
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively
  • Current Notary Public commission required

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary commensurate with experience ($55,000–$65,000)
