Nurse Practitioner – Part-Time | Mt. Vernon, OH
Schedule: Flexible 1st Shift | 8–16 hours per week (up to 24)
Pay: $85/hour
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team in Mt. Vernon, OH. This is a part-time, flexible 1st shift position offering an excellent work-life balance with the opportunity to provide meaningful patient care in a supportive clinical environment.
Schedule & Compensation
- Schedule: Flexible 1st shift (typically between 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Hours: 8–16 hours per week (up to 24 hours as needed)
- Pay Rate: $85/hour
Key Responsibilities
1. Patient Care & Clinical Services
- Develops and implements patient care plans within the scope of practice.
- Monitors progress of patients with chronic illnesses and intervenes when necessary.
- Performs routine physical exams to assess chronic conditions and diagnose new health issues.
- Evaluates, treats, and prescribes medications for both acute and chronic patients.
- Completes discharge planning and follow-up for patients with ongoing medical needs.
- Performs minor surgical procedures as training and competency allow.
- Determines need for specialist referrals and coordinates care as appropriate.
- Orders and interprets laboratory, x-ray, and diagnostic test results.
- Administers vaccinations and immunizations.
2. Medical Documentation
- Accurately documents all medical assessments, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions in compliance with agency and accreditation standards.
- Maintains thorough and confidential patient medical records.
- Collaborates monthly with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) or equivalent for quality review.
3. Leadership & Collaboration
- Provides clinical direction and oversight to nursing and allied health staff.
- Participates in staff meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and professional development programs.
- Serves as a resource for patient and family education, health promotion, and risk prevention.
Qualifications
- Valid Ohio RN license and Nurse Practitioner certification (Advanced Practice with Certificate of Authority and Prescriptive Authority per ORC 4723).
- Strong knowledge of advanced nursing practices, clinical assessment, and patient care management.
- Proficiency with medical equipment (e.g., EKG, ophthalmoscope, BP cuff) and electronic medical records systems.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and strong clinical judgment.
