Position Overview
We are seeking a Legal Assistant (French) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be fully bilingual in English and French, with native-level fluency in both languages. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, andmost importantlya genuine passion for helping immigrants and supporting their journey toward stability and opportunity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Political Science, English, French, or a related field
- Native-level fluency in both English and French (spoken and written)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to immigrant rights and social justice
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys in immigration cases
- Prepare basic immigration forms and documents under the supervision of an attorney
- Translate and draft legal documents in English and French
- Assist with client communications, ensuring clarity and compassion across languages
- Maintain case files and manage scheduling
- Conduct basic legal research and prepare summaries
- Support attorneys in hearings, filings, and other immigration-related processes
