Job Description

Job Description Build your career where precision meets production

Join a team that transforms designs into stable, efficient CNC machining processes. You’ll be the go-to expert for industrializing parts across turning, milling, drilling, and grinding—driving consistency, yield, and speed on the shop floor.

Why you’ll love it here

  • Comprehensive benefits: PTO (vacation, holidays, parental leave), healthcare/dental/vision/life, 401k with match.
  • Development-focused: Tuition assistance and hands-on exposure to advanced machining, CAD/CAM, and CI tools.
  • Well-being: EAP, annual PPE reimbursements, and monthly gym membership reimbursement.
  • Impact: Direct line of sight from your process improvements to KPI gains on the floor.

Core responsibilities

  • Design, optimize, and document CNC machining processes (turning, milling, drilling, grinding).
  • Create process flows, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (COPs).
  • Specify and validate cutting tools, fixtures, and equipment for repeatability and high performance.
  • Perform time/capability studies and lead root-cause analysis to reduce scrap and improve efficiency.
  • Enable new product introduction in partnership with product development, quality, and production.
  • Champion continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen).
  • Provide frontline technical support and troubleshoot machining issues.
  • Collaborate with suppliers/tooling vendors on trials, validation, and optimization.
  • Monitor KPIs and drive corrective actions to maintain control.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for

  • BS/MS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent), or 5+ years of relevant CNC machining experience.
  • Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Data-driven problem solver with excellent analytical skills.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint proficiency.
  • Depth in GD&T, blueprint reading, and tolerance stacks (GD&T standards preferred).
  • Hands-on with Emag, Okuma, Mazak, and Kuka controllers.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP and production scheduling tools.
  • CAD/CAM recommended.
  • SPS basic knowledge.

Work setup

  • Location: Onsite at our Columbus facility.
  • Physical demand: May lift automotive components up to 15 pounds.
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:15 PM, with occasional overtime or weekends.
