Job Description
Job Description Build Precision With Western Enterprises (a Marmon company)
For more than 60 years, Western Enterprises has advanced high‑quality compressed gas solutions—from essential fittings to sophisticated manifold systems—designed and built in Ohio and trusted worldwide. At our Avon Lake facility, we put innovation, craftsmanship, and teamwork to work every day.
A Day in the Life
You arrive on shift prepared and on time, don your PPE (100% of the time), and begin by checking the plating line. You confirm bath temperatures, verify chemistry through titrations, and record results according to documented methods (e.g., WEPM6001, WEPM8006). With the process set, you load parts into baskets or onto racks and guide them through precise cleaning, plating, and rinse sequences. Dried components are inspected against quality standards; any nonconforming items are identified and reworked. You schedule preventative maintenance, clean tanks as needed, and keep the area orderly and safe. Throughout the shift, you collaborate with teammates to hit quality and efficiency goals, and you flag chemical reorder points and urgent issues to your supervisor.
What You’ll Tackle
- Handle and mix acids and plating chemicals safely while wearing proper PPE at all times.
- Follow detailed cleaning and plating procedures; complete documentation per methods (e.g., WEPM6001, WEPM8006).
- Monitor tanks; perform titrations; maintain correct chemical balance and temperatures.
- Load parts onto racks/baskets; immerse in chemical and rinse solutions in the proper sequence.
- Dry, inspect, and verify components meet our quality standards; rework when needed.
- Execute preventative maintenance and perform tank cleaning as required.
- Identify and address nonconformances; partner with the team to meet throughput and quality targets.
- Report chemical reorder points and escalate urgent line or quality issues promptly.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe; arrive prepared and punctual for every shift.
What You Bring
- Experience in plating, chemical processing, or a related manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of safe chemical handling practices and standards.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
- Ability to lift, push, and carry parts and materials in a production setting.
- Comfort following instructions and documentation precisely.
- Motivation to succeed in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
