Duties and Key Responsibilities
- Respects patients’ rights to privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
- Maintains positive interpersonal relationships with all internal and external customers.
- Assist with admission, discharge and/or transfer of patients.
- Maintains established hospital and work area policies, procedures, guest relations, safety, environmental and infection control.
- Observes patients and reports unusual conditions and / or reactions to RN, LPN, or appropriate licensed team member.
- Performs basic patient care activities. Answers call lights and responds appropriately.
- Performs routine cleaning tasks in the patient’s care room during and after discharge of patient.
- Assists in the care and maintenance of work area equipment and supplies. Assist in ordering necessary weekly supplies from dietary.
- Assist in clerical duties as dictated and trained.
- Perform other duties assigned.
Requirements
- Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity, eye hand coordination, standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
- Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50-pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
Education/Certifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience
- Previous experience preferred, but not required.
