Minimum of 3 years cardiac step-down experience
Requirements
- candidates will have a minimum of three 3 years cardiac step-down experience, including heart cath recovery/cardiac drips/post-op open heart patients and other cardiac/med-surg step-down patients
- The RN candidate MUST have experience with Open-Heart, Vents, and Epic EMR
- BLS and ACLS are required.
Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Step-Down (Night Shift)
Start Date: January 19, 2026 (fixed; no alternative start dates available)
Schedule: 36 hours/week, Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our Cardiac Step-Down Unit. This role requires strong clinical expertise in post–open heart and cardiac step-down care, with the ability to adapt to fluctuating census and staffing needs.
Schedule & Coverage
- Typically works every 3rd weekend
- Covers 1 holiday (subject to change based on staffing/census)
- No on-call required, though a rare call day may be requested during staffing or census fluctuations
- Floating to other units may be required during low census or coverage needs (infrequent)
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- Minimum of 3 years cardiac step-down experience
- Demonstrated experience with:
- Heart cath recovery
- Cardiac drips
- Post-operative open-heart patients
- Cardiac/medical-surgical step-down patients
- Epic EMR experience required
Mandatory Clinical Experience
Candidates must have hands-on experience with:
- Open-heart patients
- Ventilator management
- Epic electronic medical record system
