We are looking for a skilled Legal Assistant/Paralegal for a prominent firm in the Columbus area. This role involves preparing and filing business documents, maintaining client and agency communications, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.


Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file incorporation documents, stock certificates, corporate resolutions, and dissolution paperwork across various states.

• Request and secure Certificates of Good Standing, certified copies, and Tax Clearance Certificates from state agencies.

• Obtain Employer Identification Numbers (EINs) and ensure proper documentation submission.

• Draft correspondence for clients, government agencies, and internal/external legal teams.

• Build and maintain relationships with third-party service providers to facilitate legal processes.

• Assemble and organize entity minute books for corporate records.

• Assist with document legalization procedures in accordance with regulatory standards.

• File corporate and business forms with Secretary of State and county offices.

• Handle special projects and tasks assigned by corporate leadership or the Director of Paralegals.

• Demonstrated knowledge of business filing requirements and legal documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Lexis, and conducting internet-based research.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients and legal teams.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in corporate law or related legal fields.
• Familiarity with banking and finance law is a plus.
