Associate or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology, Certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT), and 1+ year of Cath Lab experience. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A cardiovascular technologist opportunity is available on a contract basis in Defiance, OH, offering the chance to develop specialized skills in a dynamic cath lab environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Train to assist physicians during cardiovascular cath and electrophysiology procedures, including monitoring, scrubbing, and circulating roles.
- Prepare and educate patients before procedures and provide post-procedural home care instructions.
- Maintain sterile technique and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Support the cath/EP lab manager in maintaining a safe, efficient work environment.
- Document and maintain departmental records while complying with Joint Commission standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in cath or EP lab on-call rotations and work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
- Collaborate with cardiologists and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Desired Qualifications:
- GED or Associates/Bachelors degree in Health Science or related field.
- One year of relevant medical experience (e.g., LPN, RT, EMT/Paramedic) may substitute formal education.
- Completion of a Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) program preferred.
- Valid certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
- Basic understanding of cardiovascular anatomy, electrophysiology, and cath lab procedures.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond promptly to patient emergencies.
Work Schedule:
- Four 10-hour shifts per week.
- On-call shifts including some weekends and holidays.
- Weekend coverage at a minimum every other weekend.
- Holiday shifts include two major and two minor holidays.
