A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CONSTRUCTION PROJECT ENGINEER
As a Construction Project Engineer, you are responsible for managing a large flow of projects that vary in size for our company. You assist your team by managing project relationships, profitability, and cost controls for various aspects of the project, including production, scheduling, procurement, monitoring, and enhancement. Serving as a liaison, you maintain communication with owners, subcontractors, architects, and engineers to follow up on a project's status. Using your exceptional organizational skills, you keep track of all orders, invoices, and monthly billing statements. You also assist in ensuring all the correct parties are billed, vendors and subcontractors are paid in full, and closeout packages are complete.
In addition, you vet out new corporate donors on an as-needed basis. Throughout the project, you help determine the scope of work, prepare the schedule, and track materials. You manage all project activities as assigned by the project manager as well as accurately maintain reports using our Project Specific Traction Tools. Once a project is wrapping up, you generate a closeout status report as well as manage the filing and tracking of all closeout documents. You ensure that the cash flow schedule matches the closeout time frame and that any remaining items go through billing.
Maintaining good relationships with clients and subcontractors throughout the full process is of the utmost importance to you, and you make sure that everyone involved with a project is always on the same page. Anytime questions or requests for information arise regarding billing or other aspects of a project, you are quick to answer and ensure that you are providing accurate responses. You find great satisfaction in watching a project come to life and keeping our clients satisfied, which is why you are an ideal match for this project engineering position in commercial construction!
