Job Description

Job Description About MXD ProcessAt MXD Process, we are a leading manufacturer of industrial processing equipment. As a multi-site manufacturer of tanks, mixers, skids, and fully integrated process systems, we serve global leaders in the chemical, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, and specialty materials sectors. Our mission is to deliver intelligently designed equipment with performance, safety, and quality at the core. Every product we build is backed by process expertise and a relentless focus on client success.
Position Overview
The Quality and Safety Manager is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring that every product we fabricate and every site we operate meets or exceeds the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. From pressure-rated tanks to modular process skids, this role drives continuous improvement across our fabrication shops, engineering processes, and field operations.
As a key member of the MXD Process team, you will lead both quality assurance and safety strategy—developing scalable systems, ensuring regulatory alignment, and fostering a zero-incident culture throughout our operations. Key Responsibilities Quality Leadership

  • Develop and oversee MXD Process’s Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with Quality and ASME/3A standards.
  • Drive quality execution across all product lines—custom stainless tanks, industrial agitators, portable mix systems, skids, and turnkey systems.
  • Lead in-process inspections, weld and finish quality verification, FAT/SAT protocols, and dimensional checks on all outgoing systems.
  • Supervise and coordinate with international quality control (QC) vendors (e.g., China-based fractional inspectors).
  • Train inspection staff across facilities; establish reporting and workflow structure.
  • Analyze and close out non-conformance reports (NCRs) with root cause investigation and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Lead customer and third-party quality audits and certification processes.

Safety Management

  • Own the implementation and continual improvement of company-wide health & safety programs, ensuring OSHA compliance and site-level accountability.
  • Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and assign shop-floor safety audits across all locations.
  • Lead training for safety-critical procedures such as LOTO, hoisting, hot work, PPE protocols, confined space, and equipment safety.
  • Maintain compliance records, injury logs, SDS documentation, and emergency preparedness plans.

Cross-Site Standardization

  • Create alignment across multi-site operations, embedding consistent quality and safety practices into every tank weld, mixer build, and system integration.
  • Support the launch of new production cells or shop expansions by developing scalable safety and quality procedures.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Safety, Quality Management, or a related discipline with 5+ years of experience in industrial fabrication or equipment manufacturing, with direct responsibility for quality and safety programs.
  • Degree may be substituted with 8+ years experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of metal fabrication, sanitary design, pressure-rated equipment, and custom-engineered systems.
  • Experience implementing ISO, OSHA, and ASME programs; QMS certification
  • Excellent communicator and motivator—able to lead cross-functional teams, train frontline operators, and represent MXD Process in customer-facing quality matters.

What We Offer

  • A fast-paced, engineering-forward environment with a high degree of autonomy.
  • The opportunity to make an impact at scale—ensuring that systems used in critical industries are built to perform safely and flawlessly.
  • Competitive salary, benefits package, and opportunities for professional development.
  • A culture rooted in helpfulness, trust, and purposeful collaboration.

Travel Expectations
This role supports multiple MXD Process locations and requires up to 30% travel across MXD facilities in Ohio and Indiana, system integration sites, and customer test locations. Ready to Lead Quality and Safety at the Core of Innovation?
Join MXD Process and help us engineer excellence—safely, reliably, and with confidence in every weld and every workflow.
