Summary
The Clinical Therapist/Counselor provides therapeutic and diagnostic services to individuals and families across various settings. This role delivers clinical interventions through individual, group, and family therapy; performs assessments; maintains thorough and timely documentation; and collaborates with internal and community teams to support client progress. The Clinical Therapist/Counselor plays a key role in supporting clients on their journey to mental wellness, recovery, and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Services & Assessment
- Conduct face-to-face diagnostic assessments using DSM-5 criteria for children, teens, and adults.
- Deliver individual, group, and family psychotherapy using evidence-based clinical practices.
- Engage in care coordination with internal team members and external community partners to support comprehensive treatment.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain up-to-date and audit-ready clinical records for all clients in accordance with agency standards.
- Submit all clinical documentation within 24 hours of service delivery.
- Ensure documentation is entered into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system accurately and in a timely manner.
- Regularly review client files to confirm compliance with productivity and documentation benchmarks.
- Meet and exceed productivity goals as outlined by the agency.
- Remain in compliance with agency clinical supervision standards, including weekly or bi-weekly meetings with the Clinical Services Manager, as required by licensure and agency expectations.
Community-Based Engagement
- Provide therapeutic services in a variety of environments including the agency office, local schools, community agencies, and in-home sessions.
- Acquire and maintain knowledge of community resources to support client needs such as housing, food, safety, and medical referrals.
Professional Conduct & Team Collaboration
- Actively contribute to a collaborative clinical team environment and attend case reviews and staff meetings.
- Deliver care aligned with the agencys Mission, Vision, and Client Care Philosophy.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, ethics, and integrity in all interactions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education (must meet one of the following):
- Level I - Bachelors degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related behavioral health field with LSW or LPC licensure in Ohio.
- Level II- Masters degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related behavioral health field with LISW, LISW-S, LPC, LPCC, or LPCC-S licensure in Ohio.
- Active Ohio licensure in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a behavioral health or substance use disorder setting
- Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a high-growth, fast-paced environment
- Valid drivers license and access to a personal vehicle with active insurance coverage
- Must obtain certification in First Aid, CPR, and de-escalation training within 90 days of hire
