Responsibilities & Duties
- Diagnose, repair, and rebuild Ford transmission systems (automatic and manual) using Ford-specific diagnostic equipment and software.
- Perform work accurately and efficiently in accordance with dealership and manufacturer specifications, including warranty repairs.
- Conduct multi-point inspections and document all work performed on repair orders clearly and accurately.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and the parts department to ensure seamless workflow and customer satisfaction.
Stay current with factory technical bulletins and participate in manufacturer-sponsored training to continuously learn new technology and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: A minimum of 2-5 years of experience as an automotive technician, with specific, proven experience in Ford transmission diagnosis and repair is required.
- Certifications:
- Ford Certification: Ford-specific certifications, such as Ford STST or Senior Master Certification in Transmission/Powertrain, are a significant plus
- ASE Certification: Relevant ASE Certifications, particularly in Automatic Transmission/Transaxle (A2), are highly valued.
- Skills:
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills using electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Expert-level knowledge of automotive mechanical and electrical systems.
- Dexterity and excellent hand-eye coordination.
- General:
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory.
- Must be willing to submit to a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
- Ownership of personal tools is typically required.
