Nationwide Therapy Group is seeking a travel Pathology Assistant for a travel job in Cleveland, Ohio.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform macroscopic dissection and gross description of surgical specimens.
- Conduct intraoperative frozen sections with accurate tissue selection, cutting, and staining.
- Process tissue for ancillary studies (e.g., EM, cytogenetics, immunofluorescence, microbiology, research).
- Maintain detailed specimen records in compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with pathologists, residents, and technicians for timely results communication.
- Participate in QA/QC processes, instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure compliance with safety and hazardous materials handling protocols.
- Provide training and guidance to surgical pathology staff and medical trainees.
- Pursue ongoing professional education to remain current in surgical pathology practices.
Requirements:
- Education: Master’s Degree in Pathologists’ Assistant (Required) OR Bachelor’s Degree in biological science (prior to 2005, Required).
- Certification: PA-ASCP certification required.
- Experience: Prior hands-on pathology dissection and frozen sectioning expertise.
Required Certifications & Health Compliance (for onboarding):
- BLS
- Immunizations: Hep B, Varicella, MMR, Tdap, Flu (seasonal)
- TB/PPD (2-Step or Quantiferon/Tspot), annual questionnaire if history of positive PPD
- Physical/health statement, fit test, and COVID vaccine (recommended)
