Job Overview
- We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Nurse to join our independent practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in pediatric nursing and a passion for delivering exceptional, family-centered care to children across all developmental stages. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing services while ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of pediatric patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and developmental screenings, with attention to age-specific needs.
- Administer medications and injections accurately, including routine and required immunizations in accordance with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) schedule.
- Provide specialized nursing care for children with complex medical conditions, including congenital disorders, infectious diseases, and chronic illnesses, using evidence-based practices.
- Assist with diagnostic procedures and laboratory specimen collection, ensuring strict adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Educate patients and families on medication administration, nutrition, developmental milestones, preventive care, and health maintenance strategies tailored to pediatric populations.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Follow up on outstanding laboratory tests and diagnostic results as directed.
- Contact patients and families to communicate care instructions, results, and follow-up recommendations.
- Perform additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience as a Pediatric Nurse in clinical settings such as hospitals, emergency departments, or outpatient practices.
- Demonstrated experience administering injections and managing medication protocols for pediatric patients, including those with special needs or developmental disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric infection control practices and immunization guidelines.
- Solid understanding of pediatric physiology, growth and development, and age-appropriate assessment and diagnostic techniques.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and patient advocacy skills.
