We are hiring a Legal Billing Clerk for the Cleveland office. Training begins in-office, after training the schedule moves to Hybrid.
Key Responsibilities
- Invoicing & Billing: Compiling, managing, and executing attorney monthly client billing. This includes processing complex, multi-matter, or split-party billing in accordance with fee agreements.
- Electronic Billing (E-billing): Submitting invoices through various electronic billing vendors and handling rejections.
- Time & Expense Tracking: Reviewing and tracking billable hours and expenses to ensure accuracy.
- Accounts Receivable: Monitoring accounts, running aging reports, and following up on overdue payments.
- Administrative Support: Maintaining client files, managing account balances, and resolving billing inconsistencies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in a law firm setting is often required, along with proficiency in legal billing software (e.g., Aderant, Elite, Clio, or ProLaw).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (specifically Excel) and strong accounting/bookkeeping knowledge.
- Attention to Detail: High accuracy in handling complex billing, including discounts and task-based billing.
- Confidentiality: Strict adherence to client and firm confidentiality.
- Communication: Ability to interact professionally with attorneys, staff, and clients regarding billing issues.
