Position Overview
The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for various construction projects. This role requires a keen understanding of commercial and industrial construction practices, as well as the ability to analyze project specifications and collaborate with project teams to develop competitive bids.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates based on project specifications and drawings
- Analyze labor, material, and overhead costs to develop accurate budgets
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather project information
- Review subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing
- Participate in preconstruction meetings to discuss project scope and requirements
- Maintain accurate records of estimates and bid documentation
- Monitor and update cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Estimator within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of commercial and industrial construction practices
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
