About the Role:
The Production Coordinator I plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of manufacturing processes by coordinating production activities from start to finish. This position is responsible for managing work orders, overseeing inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards to meet production goals. The coordinator acts as a liaison between various departments including shipping/receiving, quality assurance, and operations to facilitate timely delivery and maintain workflow continuity. They are instrumental in implementing and monitoring standard operating procedures and change management methodologies to optimize production efficiency. Ultimately, this role supports the manufacturing team in maintaining a safe, compliant, and productive environment that aligns with company objectives and customer expectations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher in a related field preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to production coordination or operations support.
- Familiarity with shipping/receiving procedures and inventory management systems.
- Knowledge of standard operating procedures and quality assurance and EHS standards.
- Proficiency in using SAP workflow or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.
- Experience with change management methodologies and conducting process or operational audits.
- Certification in inventory control / process flow / lean manufacturing (e.g., Six Sigma, TPM).
- Hands-on experience with work order systems and packaging process optimization.
- Strong background in promoting and sustaining a safety culture within manufacturing settings.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily production schedules and work orders to ensure timely completion of manufacturing tasks.
- Manage shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with safety data sheets and packaging processes.
- Conduct process and operational audits to verify adherence to standard operating procedures and quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement change management methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain inventory levels and oversee the work order system to support uninterrupted production flow.
- Support Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) audits and promote a strong culture within the production environment.
- Monitor and maintain quality and safety standards throughout the production and packaging processes.
Skills:
The required skills such as shipping/receiving, inventory management, and SAP workflow are essential for managing the flow of materials and coordinating production schedules effectively. Knowledge of standard operating procedures and change management methodologies enables the coordinator to implement process improvements and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
