Position Title: Director of Stewardship and Development
Reports To: Pastor
FLSA Status: Exempt, Full-Time
Position Summary
Holy Family Parish is the only Catholic parish serving the community of Stow, Ohio. Our mission is to encounter Jesus Christ, provide a welcoming home for individuals and families, foster Eucharistic worship, and inspire saints. The Director of Stewardship and Development fosters a culture of stewardship, promotes discipleship as a way of life, and secures the financial resources needed to support and grow the parish’s mission. This position oversees all stewardship, development, and advancement initiatives to ensure they align with Catholic values and parish priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Stewardship Formation and Engagement
• Promote stewardship rooted in prayer, service, and sacrificial giving.
• Develop and implement parish-wide education and engagement initiatives.
• Collaborate with clergy, staff, and lay leaders to build a culture of gratitude and generosity.
Development and Fundraising
• Lead fundraising strategies including annual giving, major gifts, capital campaigns, planned giving, and special projects.
• Cultivate and steward relationships with parishioners, benefactors, and prospective donors.
• Ensure best practices in donor stewardship, recognition, and accountability.
• Identify, cultivate and solicit major gifts in collaboration with the pastor.
Parish Advancement and Communications
• Oversee development communications: appeals, reports, newsletters, and digital outreach.
• Coordinate events that build community and financial support.
• Support ministry leaders in integrating stewardship into parish life.
Administration and Leadership
• Develop and manage the development budget.
• Supervise staff and volunteers in stewardship and fundraising roles.
• Maintain accurate donor and contribution records.
• Provide reports for the pastor, finance council, and parish leadership.
• Ensure compliance with diocesan policies and legal standards.
Qualifications
• Practicing Catholic in good standing.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in development, fundraising, or stewardship; parish or Catholic nonprofit experience preferred.
• Demonstrated success with donor cultivation and major gifts.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Proficiency with fundraising software and Microsoft Office Suite.
