SUPERVISES: Volunteer Coordinator/Activity Personnel/Volunteer


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  1. Plan and organize a variety of activities and events for different groups
  2. Coordinate with other staff members to ensure smooth execution of activities
  3. Create schedules and timelines for events and activities
  4. Manage budgets and resources for activities
  5. Develop promotional materials to advertise events
  6. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities and programs
  7. Communicate regularly with participants to gather feedback and improve activities
  8. Ensure all activities comply with relevant health and safety regulations
  9. Maintain and update activity-related records and reports
  10. Identify and foster relationships with potential sponsors or partners
  11. Maintain activity supplies and equipment, ensuring they are in good condition
  12. Promote activities through various communication channels to increase participation
  13. Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe and inclusive manner
  14. Develop and implement activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being
  15. Train and supervise volunteers or support staff assisting with activities
  16. Coordinate special events or themed activities
  17. Submit articles and activity calendar for monthly Senior Tidings newsletter, post events on Facebook
  18. Initiate marketing strategies such as email, social media, and record radio spots with local media services, as ways of reaching the public to increase awareness of our organization.
  19. Reports to the CCCOA Executive Director on functions of the Activity Program.
  20. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

An Activity Coordinator plays a crucial role in designing, implementing, and overseeing a wide range of activities that cater to senior citizens, interests, and skill levels. Must ensure all participants enjoy enriching and memorable experiences that promote socialization, skill development, and overall well-being. Requirements:

Must have a minimum of the following:

  1. A minimum of two years’ experience working in recreational planning, event management or related field of activities.
  2. High school diploma or equivalent
  3. Previous experience in activity planning or event coordination
  4. Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to think creatively
  5. Excellent organizational and time management skills
  6. Familiarity with budgeting and resource management
  7. Proficiency in using software for planning and scheduling
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  9. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  10. Experience working with diverse groups of people
  11. Proven experience in coordinating activities or similar roles
  12. Excellent organizational skills
  13. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  14. Creativity and the ability to create engaging and varied activities
  15. Ability to manage time efficiently and oversee multiple tasks
  16. Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations
  17. Physical ability to participate in and facilitate activities
  18. Basic computer skills
  19. Knowledge in fundraising
  20. Able to lift 50 pounds.
  21. Knowledge of Crawford County area.
  22. Must be free of any disqualifying criminal offenses as determined by fingerprint check through the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation.
  23. Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s license, automobile insurance, and have access to reliable transportation to travel throughout Crawford County.
