Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide specialized nursing care as a 1:1 pediatric RN supporting a 5th grade student with complex medical needs in an elementary school setting. This part-time role focuses on delivering attentive, hands-on care during school hours one day per week, including transportation on the school bus to and from the location in Pickerington, OH.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and administer tube feeding, water bolus, and medications via G-tube
- Perform trach care and suctioning (oral and trach) with expertise and diligence
- Support mobility and positioning needs utilizing AFO splints, wheelchair, and Hoyer lift
- Monitor vital signs with pulse oximeter and provide continence care as required
- Ensure student safety and comfort throughout school day and transportation
- Collaborate closely with school personnel and family to coordinate care plans and communication
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio is mandatory
- Demonstrated critical experience in pediatric nursing, with competency in tracheostomy and suction techniques
- Previous experience or certification in school nursing or specialized pediatric nursing preferred
- Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a school environment
- Reliable transportation and comfort with accompanying the student on the school bus
Position Details:
- Location: Pickerington, Ohio
- Duration: December start through May 22, 2026 (flexible start date based on needs)
- Hours: Part-time, one day per week on Tuesdays
- Caseload: One 5th grade student requiring dedicated 1:1 nursing care
