Job Description

Hook-N-Haul is seeking a skilled full-time In-Shop and Roadside Heavy Truck Mechanic to join our team in Medina County. As a full-time mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing fleet vehicles both on-site and in our shop, ensuring that our customers' trucks remain in peak operating condition.

YOUR NEW ROLE AS AN IN-SHOP AND ROADSIDE HEAVY TRUCK MECHANIC

We offer flexible scheduling options, including 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts with day, evening, and night shift availability. Mechanics will also participate in a rotating on-call weekend schedule to support emergency repairs.

As an In-Shop and Roadside Heavy Truck Mechanic, your day will begin with preparing your mobile service truck, ensuring that all necessary tools and equipment are stocked. You will travel to fleet yards and service locations, performing diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on Class 8 trucks and trailers. When repairs require additional attention, you will either make the vehicle roadworthy for transport to our fully equipped shop in Medina County or coordinate a tow for further service. Throughout the day, you will document all work completed, adhere to safety protocols, and communicate effectively with team members to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Your responsibilities will range from tire repairs and replacement to electrical diagnostics, HVAC servicing, and major mechanical repairs, providing a dynamic and engaging work environment.

REQUIREMENTS FOR AN IN-SHOP AND ROADSIDE HEAVY TRUCK MECHANIC

1+ year(s) of heavy-duty diesel mechanic experience (Class 8)
Your own tools
Experience with heavy-duty tire repair or replacement
Strong communication skills
Good sense of humor, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well with others

Possession of an ASE diesel certification or a Class A CDL is a plus. Road service experience is also a plus.
