Summary/Objective
Under moderate supervision, this position performs work related to general grounds maintenance and upkeep of our residential facilities.
Essential Functions/Primary Job Responsibilities
- Performs grounds maintenance in the areas of mowing, mulching, weed removal, edging, hedge trimming, power washing, trash removal, seeding/planting, and all duties related to lawn/landscaping. Also, will be required to perform duties of general building maintenance as needed
- Must be knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures in all areas of grounds maintenance
- Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within all areas of grounds maintenance
- Will regularly travel around to the different FCRS facilities to maintain all grounds
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Knowledge of tools, materials, methods, and practices used in grounds maintenance
- Understanding of occupational hazards and safety precautions
- Skilled in operation of power and manual tools, along with light and heavy equipment
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Work extended hours out of doors in varying weather conditions
- Work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 60 pounds
- Operate various types of tools and equipment safely and efficiently
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public
- Follow written and verbal instructions
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Requires 2-3 years of proven experience in the maintenance field or in a related area
- Working knowledge of tools, materials, methods, and practices used in maintenance & occupational hazards and safety precautions
- Skill in operation of power and manual tools & operation of light and heavy equipment
- Must be able to lift, bend, push, pull up to 60 pounds
- Valid Driver’s License and Insurable Driving Record
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, exempt position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
