Overview

Quality Engineer / Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE)

Location: Perrysburg, OH
Type: Contract (Approx. 3 months)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Hours may vary
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: $50–$55/hour
Level: Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer / Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to support supplier quality initiatives and material quality performance for a short-term contract assignment in Perrysburg, OH. This role will work closely with suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams to drive corrective actions, continuous improvement, and supplier development.

This position is ideal for a hands-on quality professional who thrives in supplier-facing environments and brings strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.


Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform failure analysis and inspection techniques on supplier materials

  • Support supplier audits, assessments, and source inspections

  • Evaluate supplier approval status and determine the need for corrective action plans

  • Interface with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to address material quality issues

  • Initiate and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

  • Support Supplier Quality Development initiatives

  • Drive process and continuous improvement efforts

  • Assess supplier processes and capabilities using Statistical Process Control (SPC)

  • Mentor suppliers to improve quality performance and meet customer requirements


Qualifications

Required Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field

  • Strong experience in Quality Engineering and/or Supplier Quality Engineering

  • Demonstrated knowledge of:

    • Quality Control & Quality Assurance

    • ISO 9001 standards

    • PPAP documentation

    • APQP

    • Control Plans & Flow Charts

    • Data Analysis & Supplier Management

  • Strong hands-on experience with:

    • Blueprint reading

    • GD&T

    • Precision measurement tools

  • Solid understanding of quality control standards and methodologies

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • High attention to detail with a results-driven mindset

Additional Information

  • No overnight travel, per diem, or mileage reimbursement

  • Approximately 40 hours per week

  • On-site support required
