Job Description

Job Description

We are seeking experienced Field Service Engineers to support our high-speed machine vision inspection systems used in food and beverage manufacturing environments. These systems operate on demanding production lines where precision, reliability, and technical expertise are critical. This role is ideal for a hands-on, highly technical professional who enjoys working independently at customer sites, solving complex challenges, and serving as a trusted technical resource for customers. Extensive travel is required, and candidates must be comfortable working in fast-paced manufacturing environments.

This is a remote, travel-based position. Due to travel demands, candidates must reside in the Midwest or Southeast United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, and upgrade machine vision inspection systems at customer sites across North & South America
  • Perform advanced mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and software-based troubleshooting
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues involving electro-mechanical, processor-based inspection equipment
  • Integrate systems into existing high-speed production lines
  • Conduct onsite equipment inspections, system audits, and performance evaluations
  • Provide professional technical support, training, and guidance to customer personnel
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system drawings
  • Complete detailed service documentation and provide timely follow-up with internal teams and customers
  • Work independently in the field while managing a fluid, travel-heavy schedule
  • Travel up to 100%, often on short notice

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience installing, commissioning, aligning, and servicing precision electro-mechanical equipment
  • Proven experience troubleshooting complex hardware/software-based industrial systems
  • Strong wiring termination, cable management, and panel work experience
  • Experience assembling and building hardware support structures and frames
  • Proficiency using power tools
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong technical documentation and report-writing skills
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts
  • Highly organized with strong time-management skills
  • Self-directed, independent, and comfortable working without direct supervision
  • Adaptable to changing schedules, environments, and customer needs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Network Engineering, or Computer Technology; or equivalent military technical experience or certified trade training
  • Experience with processor-based inspection technologies (vision, x-ray, infrared, magnetic, etc.)
  • PLC programming or troubleshooting experience
  • Prior technical support or field service experience in manufacturing environments
  • Technical writing experience
  • Metal fabrication and welding experience
