The Dog Stop – Central Cincinnati, an all-inclusive indoor/outdoor dog care facility, is looking for a friendly, organized, and energetic Front Desk Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our operation. We are a new location full of opportunities looking to build a team prior to our grand opening!

From daycare to grooming, boarding to retail—we’re the one-stop-shop for dog lovers in The Queen City and we’re on the hunt for someone who loves working with animals just as much as they love helping people.

What You'll Do – Key Responsibilities:

As a Front Desk Receptionist, you're not just answering phones or booking appointments—you’re the heartbeat of our client experience and a key player in helping the ins and outs of our everyday run smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:

Customer Service & Client Relations:

  • Greet every pet parent and their pup with a warm, welcoming attitude—whether it's their first visit or their fiftieth.

  • Promptly answer/return phone calls, respond to emails, and assist with inquiries, bookings, and service explanations.

  • Process check-ins and check-outs for daycare, boarding, and grooming services using "MyTime” software.

  • Consistently ensure all required client documentation and vaccinations are secured /updated prior to allowing any guests to utilize our services. Promptly and proactively inform pet parents when these requirements are not met.

  • Safely conduct facility tours. Confidently and clearly explain service offerings to new clients.

  • Proactively and promptly handle all customer issues or concerns with professionalism, kindness, and prompt follow-through. Reporting and referring any incidents to the management team as necessary.

  • Coordinate with management on each shift to ensure business operations are flowing as expected from the front of the house to the back. The front desk is an extension of the management team when not onsite as they focus on our client’s experience and the building’s flow overall.

  • Focus each day on building trust with each and every client you interact with. Having earnest interactions and knowing the dogs by name can truly blossom that client relationship into feeling like we are a family away from home for our guests.

️ Retail, Inventory & Ordering:

  • Monitor and restock retail items weekly, ensuring shelves are full of fun, functional, and dog-approved products. Coordinating with management as you go.

  • Help track inventory in "MyTime”, ensure accurate pricing and margins, and proactively suggest new items to the GM for approval.

  • Assist with ordering and organizing office supplies when needed.

Social Media & Community Involvement:

  • Take adorable dog photos and videos (yes, it’s part of the job!) for social media, following brand guidelines.

  • Assist with community event planning and represent The Dog Stop brand in a pawsitive, professional way.

Dog Care Oversight:

  • Work with the GM and floor staff to ensure dogs receive top-notch care in daycare, grooming, and boarding areas.

  • Be ready to step in and help out in playrooms, feeding, or cleaning when needed.

  • Notify management of any issues related to dog behavior, health, or safety.

Team Support:

  • Provide constructive feedback to management as needed to ensure overall team safety and effectiveness as issues arise.

  • Participate in employee recognition and reward programs.

  • Help reinforce company policies, training, and performance expectations with professionalism and positivity.

  • Exposure to outdoor spaces during inclement weather. Facility duties and animal care continue year-round, in any season for any position.

✅ Who You Are – Qualifications & Competencies:

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or currently enrolled in high school

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • Must have reliable transportation

  • At least 1 year in a receptionist, customer service, or supervisory role (pet care experience a big plus!) Pay will vary based on prior experience.

  • Comfortable working with both people and pets in a busy environment

  • Organized and detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities

  • Positive, attitude

  • Empathy towards both humans and animals

  • Natural leader who can work independently and as part of a team

  • Confident in resolving issues and making customer-centric decisions

  • Must love dogs and understand (or be excited to learn about!) dog behavior and safety

  • Familiarity with POS systems, scheduling tools, and software like "MyTime" is a bonus

  • Reliable and punctual. We have dogs who are on site 24/7 who rely on us to show up every day and do our best.

Availability:

  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays is required as we have dogs on site 24/7 year-round.

  • Hiring for both AM and PM Shifts Monday – Friday and one set shift for Weekends. Please note that shifts will be scheduled to begin before the business opens and after the business closes to ensure all departments are handled appropriately and all animals are cared for properly. You will be scheduled to work a minimum of 30 minutes up to 4 hours before opening / after closing time depending on if you’re helping in the dog care area. This also depends on the day of the week. Mid shifts may be available as well on busier days.

  • Business Hours for the Public:

  • Monday – Friday 7am – 7pm

  • Saturday 8am – 5pm

  • Sunday 10am – 5pm
