Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technician to support our production, engineering, and quality teams. The ideal candidate will have strong inspection skills, a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to create and maintain accurate quality documentation. The Quality Department functions as a strategic partner to Production, helping optimize workflows, improve processes, and promote a culture of pride, accountability, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

Process & Production Documentation

  • Write procedures and work instructions using standardized company formats.
  • Communicate quality issues and findings to production, engineering, and management.
  • Support production efforts related to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Verify proper setup of machines through thorough first-piece inspection.
  • Assist in training operators on inspection techniques, measurement methods, or quality requirements.

Inspection & Quality Verification

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, CMM, Faro Arm etc.
  • Inspect components per drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Document inspection results accurately in logs, travelers, or digital systems.
  • Identify, segregate, and document nonconforming material through NCRs.
  • Support First Article Inspections (FAI) as needed.

Calibration & Equipment Care

  • Verify all measuring tools are calibrated and in good working condition before use.
  • Report damaged or out-of-tolerance gages for replacement or recalibration.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready inspection areas.

Quality System Support

  • Participate in corrective action activities, including root-cause analysis and follow-up inspections.
  • Assist with internal audits for ISO or customer-specific quality systems.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in quality inspection or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gage blocks, height gages, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of technical drawings and GD&T.
  • Ability to write clear, accurate procedures and reports.
  • Experience with ERP/MES systems is a plus.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
