Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly adaptable and self-driven Floating Project Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for a strong leader who enjoys traveling between multiple project sites and providing hands-on support to ensure quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The Floating Project Manager will step in where needed to oversee installations, support local Project Managers, and ensure consistent company standards across all locations.
This position involves regular travel to job sites and may require lifting up to 50 lbs in the course of routine project oversight and support.
Key Responsibilities:
Multi-Site Leadership & Support:
- Travel between assigned project sites to provide leadership, coaching, and support to installation teams.
- Step in to manage active projects when local Project Managers are unavailable or additional oversight is needed.
- Ensure consistency in process, safety, and quality across all job sites.
Hands-On Installation & Quality Oversight:
- Conduct on-site quality checks to ensure work meets company and customer expectations.
- Assist field teams with installations or project setup when necessary to meet deadlines or maintain quality standards.
- Identify and resolve field-level issues promptly and professionally.
Training & Process Consistency:
- Train and support installation crews on company procedures, safety, and quality requirements.
- Reinforce best practices to drive process consistency across all project sites.
Customer Communication:
- Serve as the on-site point of contact for customers, ensuring a positive experience and timely communication on project progress.
Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination:
- Communicate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely deliveries and adherence to project schedules.
- Help troubleshoot scheduling conflicts or supply issues as they arise.
Administrative Duties:
- Complete field reports and maintain accurate project documentation in the CRM.
- Provide management with updates on project progress, quality concerns, and training needs.
Flexibility & Collaboration:
- Coordinate travel and assignments with Regional and Operations Managers based on company needs.
- Provide leadership and operational coverage across multiple regions as needed.
Other Duties as Assigned:
- Participate in company-wide initiatives, training programs, or projects requiring field leadership.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in residential construction, remodeling, or project management.
- Travel: Willingness and ability to travel frequently, sometimes on short notice, with overnight stays as required.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks related to inspections, installations, or site support.
- Transportation: Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate crews in dynamic field environments.
- Organization: Strong multitasking and prioritization skills with attention to detail.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions and resolve challenges in the field.
