Assistant Property Manager (Entry-Level)
Pay: $15 – $18 per hour (DOE)

Schedule: Part-time/Full-time, 40 hrs/week

Reports To: Property Manager

As we expand in the Cleveland area, we’re looking for a hands-on Assistant Property Manager (APM) to handle day-to-day field duties and become an integral part of our local success story.

You’ll learn every facet of the business—leasing, maintenance oversight, resident relations, risk management—while building a career path toward full Property Manager responsibility.

Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)

Leasing & Marketing Support

  • Host showings / open houses and install signage• Collect applications and answer basic lease questions• Gather neighborhood rent-comparable data

Resident Relations

  • Conduct move-in “welcome walks” and unit courtesy checks• Post legal/notification notices (late rent, 24-hour entry, etc.)• Assist with community events (set-up, vendor coordination)

Maintenance & Vendor Coordination

  • Perform weekly exterior/common-area inspections and create work orders• Meet vendors on-site; verify scope and quality of work• Walk make-ready units, complete punch-list audits

Compliance & Safety

  • Test smoke/CO detectors; log and escalate deficiencies• Inspect pool/playground/fitness areas for hazards• Support quarterly/annual unit inspections for lease violations

Financial & Admin Field Tasks

  • Read utility meters in vacant units, deposit rent money orders• Capture progress photos and daily logs for cap-ex projects

Emergency Response

  • Be first on scene for minor after-hours issues (leaks, lock-outs); coordinate vendors as needed

Reporting & Data Collection

  • Complete curb-appeal scorecards, resident-satisfaction spot surveys, and upload results to our dashboards

What You Bring

This is an entry-level role—if you’re organized, proactive, and love face-to-face service, we’ll train you on the rest!

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or coursework in Real Estate, Business, or Facilities Management a plus)
  • 6+ months of customer-service a plus, retail, hospitality, or maintenance experience
  • Comfortable using mobile apps (AppFolio, Google Workspace, or similar)
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to lift up to 35 lbs for signage and inspection duties
  • Strong communication skills and a “roll-up-your-sleeves” mindset
