Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our dynamic team within the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). The ideal candidate will have experience providing high-level care to pediatric patients and will be responsible for delivering exceptional respiratory care in a fast-paced medical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive respiratory therapy to pediatric patients, including assessment and management of ventilatory support.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient-centered care plans.
  • Conduct advanced assessments and diagnostics for patients in the NICU and PICU.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments and monitor patient responses.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic charting systems.
  • Float to various units, including Shaker Children's Rehab, Fairview NICU, Akron NICU, and Hillcrest NICU as needed.
  • Participate in continuing education and training programs to enhance professional skills and knowledge.


Qualifications:

  • Valid Ohio RRT license in hand.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in pediatric respiratory therapy, with expertise in NICU and PICU settings (high-level care level 4).
  • Current certifications required: NBRC, BLS, Advanced NRP & PALS (all must be active at the time of submission).
  • Experience with electronic charting systems is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Flexible to accommodate scheduling requests and pre-approved time off (RTO).


Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to undergo two fingerprinting sessions as part of the onboarding process.
  • Completion of online training modules prior to the start date (typically requires 4-5 hours).
  • Background checks will be conducted and a negative 10 panel drug screening (including nicotine) is required within 12 months of starting.
  • Candidates must be nicotine-free and comply with the facility's smoke-free policy.
