SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for the oversite of all manufacturing activities. This associate will manage all safety, quality, and production activities and ensure that manufacturing expectations are met for the organization. They will maintain all department metrics, implement strategic initiatives and continuous improvement projects, break down barriers of all manufacturing activities, and act as the direct manager to all manufacturing associates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop direct reports by coaching, providing performance feedback, responding to concerns and growth interests, and providing appropriate training and tools to help individuals succeed

Ensure team members are sufficiently challenged and engaged, while workloads are distributed appropriately

Ensure work throughput and quality meet business objectives
-
Identify, escalate, and issue non-conformance while maintaining focus on minimizing down time
-
Prepare for and participate in audits and inspections.

Attend and participate in safety committee meetings, safety talks, and promote safety as a top priority, providing real-time safety coaching.

Participate in kaizen activities & develop and implement kaizen efforts

Manage all product quality and quality improvement activities and expectations

Actively participate in continuous improvement activities relative to improving key performance indicators (KPIs)

Shares in idea generation to improve output or efficiency to meet or exceed standards

Embrace the 5S methodology and utilize it to build and maintain an organized work environment

Drive a culture of safety, quality, ERP, and productivity through business efforts

Must have the desire to develop yourself and others to follow the KADEE career pathway

Manage and develop associates base on organizational and developmental needs/conduct one-on-ones with each employee to provide guidance and leadership as needed.

Ensuring that all machinery is working properly and safely and is maintained in good condition. Submit and follow up on any maintenance items required.

Making sure that all manufacturing equipment is functioning properly after beginning production runs, ensuring all weekly and monthly equipment inspections are completed

Maintain regular communication with the team, material handlers, and leadership, relaying any relevant information, including material, paperwork, supplies, inventory, quality, productivity, equipment, and personnel issues that could impact operations.

Ensure all associates are up to date with lock out / tag out operator training

Demonstrate and encourage a culture of trust, collaboration, and responsibility

Ensure the teams meet established productivity expectations

Ensure performance of daily/weekly preventive maintenance, as well as basic maintenance
-
Possess an in-depth knowledge of ERP processes to train associates and troubleshoot issues
-
Provides inventory and transactional support where applicable
-
Maintain the smooth flow of work through the shop and troubleshoot any issues
-
Help implement and sustain scheduling strategy and ensure supply chain stability for KADEE
-
Collaborate to coordinate ERP system process changes that impact the production planning team
-
Maintain the integrity of the production schedule by working with the KADEE General Manager and OGI Planning Team to optimize manufacturing efficiency
-
Ensure orders are made right and shipped when promised while meeting the quality expectations of the customer.

Take advantage of synergies with other OGI businesses to increase the profitability of Kadee and OGI Industries

Perform other duties and cross-train as assigned
EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE AND PROFICIENCIES:
Needed:
-
Bachelor’s degree (B.A., B.S.); Business Management or Supply Chain Management
-
5-10 years of manufacturing leadership experience
-
OSHA 10 certification is required
-
Passion for Continuous Improvement
-
Sound understanding of part manufacturing methods
-
Positive attitude, grit, and human resource skills to deal with conflicting interests
-
The ability to establish and maintain a strong rapport and positive relationships with associates on all levels
-
Exposure to ERP systems and scheduling management tools
Preferred:
-
LEAN/Six Sigma education, experience, and certification
-
Having some knowledge of the EPICOR ERP system
-
Must be strategic in orientation, proactive, persistent, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, as well as work within a very fast-paced environment

Previous metal fabrication leadership experience
