Summit County Public Health is seeking a Facilities Specialist to work full-time (35 hours per week), Monday through Friday. The Facilities Specialist role is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems to ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment for all at Summit County Public Health. The position also supports event setups, manages agency vehicles, coordinates with contractors, maintains records and inventories, and provides excellent customer service while upholding the agency's mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems (including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and mechanical components).
  • Conduct regular inspection of agency vehicles to ensure they are safe, clean, and operational.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of facilities and common areas.
  • Support event setups, furniture moves, and facility-related requests.
  • Coordinate with contractors for specialized repairs or inspections.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, safety inspections, and inventories.
  • Monitor and report safety hazards, code violations, and security concerns to the Facilities Supervisor.
  • Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and ensure proper use and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals.
  • Provide after-hours support for facility emergencies as needed.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with staff, supervisors, and the public.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school or technical training in building maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or plumbing preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in facility maintenance, building operations, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer systems, hardware, and software.
  • Current valid Ohio driver's license, automobile availability and insurance coverage.
