Job Description
The Inspector is responsible for reviewing raw and precision-machined components to ensure they meet blueprint and tolerance specifications. This role requires strong blueprint reading, G.D.&T. knowledge, and proficiency with hand measuring tools such as bore gauges, calipers, and micrometers. The Inspector performs first-piece, in-process, and final inspections, verifying ultra-close tolerances (to .0002”) and accurately documenting results.
- Inspect raw metal and precision-machined components and assemblies
- Read and interpret complex mechanical drawings
- Use hand measuring tools and gauges to verify part specifications
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and surface plate inspections
- Verify tolerances to less than .0002” when required
- Log and document inspection results and reports
- Support manufacturing by identifying parts outside of specifications
