Experience with air brake systems and FMCSA inspections required. Clean driving record and your own professional tools required. CDL with tanker endorsement preferred, along with tablet-based documentation skills and willingness to travel as needed.
JOB FUNCTION:
This position requires significant knowledge of most repairs, overhauls, and maintenance of equipment, requires minimal supervision and performs mentorship/training to lower level mechanics.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Performs PM Inspections.
2. Performs Post Trip Inspections.
3. Replaces tires, clutches and brakes.
4. Performs complete engine overhaul.
5. Completes differential, transmission and driveline overhead.
6. Repair and replacement of any bolt on item.
7. Complete inspection and repair of all special equipment.
8. Major electrical repair.
9. May be required to work temporarily at field locations maintaining/repairing equipment.
10. Performs other duties as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school education or technical school preferred
2. 3 or more years of diesel shop experience, including technical school.
3. Specific exposure to an equipment or maintenance environment.
4. Knowledge of basic hand tools for general equipment repair.
5. Equipment systems experience a plus.
