Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Setup: Mount tools, fixtures, and workpieces; load programs; set machine speeds/feeds; adjust offsets for accuracy.
- Operation: Start/stop machine cycles; monitor the machining process for tool wear, breakage, and performance.
- Quality Control: Read blueprints/specs; use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers) to inspect parts; verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Maintenance: Perform routine checks (oil, coolant); clean machines and work areas (5S); replace worn tools; report issues.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve machining problems; suggest improvements to engineering.
- Documentation: Keep records of output, quality checks, and procedures.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Understanding of CNC controls and G-code (often).
- Commitment to safety protocols and clean work habits (5S).
- Physical stamina for standing, lifting, and working in a factory environment.
