- Full time - 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. or 10 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Duties and Key Responsibilities
- Works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
- The Surgical Services Assistant performs procedures relating to patient transport, patient positioning, decontamination of environment, room preparation, and supply control.
- Collaborates with team members to provide quality care.
- Supports the Professional Practice & Caring Model Principles practiced at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.
- Performs transporting responsibilities of both patients and supplies as assigned
- Performs housekeeping responsibilities in the Central Sterile and Operating Room.
- Maintains inventory of supplies.
- May be required to work variable shifts.
Requirements
- Ability to concentrate for long periods of time, work independently and exercise good judgment.
- Flexibility in scheduling to meet department needs.
Education/Certifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Must meet State mandated criteria.
Experience
- No previous experience required.
